Last night ACA set out to test breathalysers in a pub situation and comment on their accuracy. As expected they came back with the comment "I wouldn't trust them" as spoken by a Police man. BUT, upon further inspection of their story you'll notice that the AlcoLimit Protector provided readings consistently in line with the Police unit.
It was interesting to note that they didn't show the breathalyser displays of all the readings and cut and shuffled scenes quite a lot. BUT, one breathalyser appeared to be consistently in line with the Police unit -
The AlcoLimit Protector.
The results were as follows:
| AlcoLimit Protector |
Police Unit |
| 0.056 |
0.054 |
| 0.015 |
0.012 |
| 0.067 |
0.062 |
Given the readings provided we have to ask the question - why did the police man say "I wouldn't trust them" ?? Considering the Protector is consistently in line with his breathalyser and erring on the side of caution by reading slightly higher. Would it therefore be safe to say he doesn't trust his own breathalyser???
